Views
The number of views Hillary Clinton received from her videos has witness a few different trends. Initially, the climb was fairly steep. Mid-December to mid-February was fairly consistent in it's growth. Mid-February saw a sharp increase in the number of views her videos received. In early March, Hillary's most controversial video, “Children,” was released. This video lead to a huge spike in views. After the release of that video, the rate in increase of views has diminished greatly.
Video Breakdown
Hillary Clinton posts commercials more than any other video type, followed by news clips and personal stories. The following is a breakdown of the types of videos Hillary Clinton has been posting from Dec. 1st to May 28th:
Trends
With the exception of personal stories, the rate in which Hillary has been posting each video type has remained fairly consistent. The numbers of news clips being posted saw a couple sharp spikes in mid-January and early February. The number of commercials being posted also saw a lull in March and early April before returning to its previous rate.
It is interesting to note that 36 of the 53 personal stories were posted between December 16 and December 18 of 2007. After the initial flurry of posting these types of videos, the number of personal stories dropped sharply. It makes sense the campaign stopped focusing so much on these types of videos. The personal story videos posted between these dates only averaged 2,833 views.
